By Jane Farasi

Places where to travel in Kenya are so many that you'd need more than one trip to cover them all. There's so much to see in this safari country where there is diversity of peoples and culture, wildlife and bird life, landscapes and flora and fauna.

Wildlife and bird life

Most visitors come to Kenya to see the wildlife. You can find here over 20 national parks and game reserves packed with wildlife.

The Maasai Mara is a major attraction between July and October for the annual wildebeest migration.

If you visit the Kakamega forest you will find over 500 bird species.

Mountain Expeditions

Treks and mountain climbing are an integral part of the options available for the adventure seeker coming to Kenya. The majestic Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest at 5895m high and offers a unique treat for the mountaineer.

Or scale Mount Kenya Africa's second highest peak at 5199m where you can get up to Point Lenana (4985m) or Point Nelion (5188m) or Point Batian (5199m)

There are also several smaller mountains and craters that are just as fun to trek and offer organized expeditions for the adventure seeker.

The Lakes.

You will find flamingos on Lakes Nakuru, Bogoria and Elmentaita. A visit to Lakes Turkana up in the north, and Lake Victoria which straddles Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania is an opportunity for a fishing safari.

Lake Bogoria has amazing hot springs.

Most of Kenya's Lakes are found on the bed of the Great Rift Valley, another of Kenya's spectacular landscapes.

The Coast Of Kenya

Unlimited options for travel and exciting water sports are to be found at the coast, against a backdrop of blue ocean waters and white sandy beaches. Here is also a fine blend of rich Arabic, Swahili and Bantu cultural influences in the people's art, architecture and lifestyles.
