Why Adult women get acne?

The common understanding that acne is simply a teen problem is false. In fact, many adults suffer from this condition, which is appropriately called, adult acne. Nearly 80 percent of all adults in their twenties and thirties suffer from acne, particularly women. In fact, this is a major problem among adult women because women are statistically more likely to suffer from adult acne than men. The cause of adult acne is essentially the same as teen acne; however, in some ways the mechanisms that trigger it are different. So, let's look at a few causes of adult acne and how to treat it holistically.

Medications and Chemicals -- Some medications and chemicals can also cause adult acne. A variety of medications, such as epilepsy medication, anabolic steroids, medications that contain lithium, iodine, and rifampin, are known to cause acne in adults. Chlorine and other chemicals can also cause breakouts.
