Tips You Can Use To Color Coordinate Your Suit

By Victor Santerino

Most men know that certain events call for a a suit rather than the normal everyday pair of jeans and white tee shirt. However, most men also do not have any idea how to color coordinate their suit with the rest of their wardrobe.

I wrote this article to help out any man that has ever been confused on the subject of color coordination. This piece will tell you what to do and give you some easy examples to follow.

Colors can be paired together in like colors, different colors in similar shades, and to themselves. Use the examples given in the paragraphs to follow to give you a better idea of what this looks like.

Matching colors exactly is a simple task, but some rules should be applied. Do not match the color of the shirt exactly with the color of the jacket. Do match the color of the tie with the color of the pocket square.

Using different shades of the same color is a great way to match your suit and accessories. Try wearing a dark blue suit with a light blue oxford or a dark gray suit with a light gray shirt.

The color of an item can easily be matched to a different shade closely related to the original color. Try wearing a yellow shirt with a green tie to really set off an outfit and make it shine.

These ways of color coordinating can also be matched up. An example of this would be to wear a dark gray suit with a light gray shirt and a dark gray tie.

Use these tips the next time you go shopping for a suit or dress shirt. Keep in mind that clothes should be bought in relation to colors you already have and not as stand alone purchases. - 16492
