Pruple Fruits Like Acai Berry Hold the Keys To Weight Loss

By Dr. Jerimiah Crossderd

Natural Purple Pigments In Fruits, Vegetables And Berries, like the acai berry, could assist in preventing obesity as scientists in Arkansas are reporting new evidence that natural pigments responsible for the beautiful blue, purple, and reddish color qualities of certain fruits and vegetables may help in preventing obesity.

The study concluded that the extract form of these fruits a far more effective than eating the fruits and vegetables when it pertained to weight loss.

According to Mr. Prior and his peers, the compound called anthocyanins that is found in dark colored fruit is shown to prevent obesity in mice that are fed a high calorie diet.

Anthocyanins are found in grape skins, blueberries, blackberries, acai berry, and other foods. The mice also had other healthful changes in disease-related substances found in the blood.

Researchers found that the mice who were fed a diet high in calories, drank water, and consumed purified anthocyanins from acai berry, and strawberries gained less weight and contained a lower level of fat.

Anthocyanins fed as the whole blueberry did not prevent and could have possibly increased obesity, the study found. However, feeding purified anthocyanins from blueberries or strawberries reduced obesity.

According to the USDA, Colorful pigments found in the skin of blueberries, strawberries and other fruits and vegetables may help prevent obesity, according to recent animal studies. - 16492
