By Alix Montoya

You can save a lot of cash with your a great looking marble floor if you just install them yourself. It's not really hard to do and you might even find yourself having fun with all the work, if you like working with your hands. You are only going to need some patience and hard work and you will be able to finish the job completely.

First, set aside everything that you are going to need. Prepare a bucket, some clean cloths and some fasteners, tile spacers, a wet saw for cutting the tiles, a level, a trowel, a plywood, a squeegee and some sponges for cleaning up after. Make sure you're safe with safety goggles, a dust mask and a pair of work gloves as well. And of course, prepare the most important part of the process of all, the marble tiles and some cement.

When you're cutting the tiles, cut across the natural fissures of the marble. The rock usually cracks along these lines and they break easily if you cut it along them. If you want to play it safe, cover the entire tile in masking tape before cutting it with your wet saw. Place it on the plywood and cut slowly and carefully. Wear your safety equipment before attempting any of these.

Lay the tiles down firmly. Do not slide them into place because the cement can get pushed to the sides and in between the tiles and this is going to be trouble. Use tile spacers to set the marble tiles in uniform distance and make sure you keep all the joints straight. Repeat the process and you'll have an elegant marble floor in no time at all.

Marble floors are elegantly beautiful. It can easily enhance any room's appearance. And if you do it yourself, all it's beauty can be yours in a considerably cheaper price. - 16492
