Protection aspects of bunk beds.

By Todd Martin

Usually popular with the kids, twin bunk beds are a great space saving solution as they use less floor space and use the vertical space. Kids may actually use all their negotiating power to decide who gets to sleep below. If you are trying to save money by buying cheap bunk bed then you should realize that you are compromising with the quality and safety of the product.

The safety aspects of a bunk bed are paramount and so when looking for a cheap bunk bed remember that there's no such thing as a free lunch - if it really is dirt cheap then you may be risking your child's health - remember that one of the fun aspects of a bunk bed is its elevation, which is also a risk and a sturdy ladder and a safety rail are both of utmost importance. Bearing that in mind, bunk beds are a great option for kid's beds, in so many different situations. They offer options that regular beds don't, both for saving space and for making good use of space. Kids love them and they look good. And they're functional.

Prior to buying a bunk bed, check for its sturdiness. This can be done by placing your hand on top bed and shaking the whole unit to check if there is any movement. Also make sure you buy child friendly bunks. Don't buy bunks with no railings on the top. And make sure they have good solid stairs. Also don't get bunks with corner posts that stick up above the railing, kids can catch things on them and fall, or hang off them, which is not good for your child's safety. The best bunk bed to consider would be a full bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top. The wider bed below would create a better balance. Also, since the children grow older, consider buying bunk beds that can be separated, because as the children grow older, the beds will be still useful. They can be used as separate beds.

You would be doing a favor to you and your kids by buying a better quality bunk at a bargain price, instead of a "cheap bunk bed" which could be potentially unsafe.

If you are looking at buying one bunk bed like twin bunk beds at a real bargain price, then you have two options. The first is to find an online bargain because online retailers often offer quality beds at reduced prices due to their low overhead costs, since they do not have to spend on warehousing and other utilities. Low overheads mean that sellers can sell cheaply online, and still make a profit. Also because they sell more, they can buy cheap from the manufacturer benefits of which are passed on to the customer. The second options is to look at the used bunk bed market - if you make a full inspection to make sure the bed is from a reputable manufacturer and is in good condition then your saving can be huge - 16492
