How to Book a Hotel

By Ada Denis

Planning a vacation is fun, but it also can be a lot of work. Most places that you will want to vacation to will require some kind of hotel stay, and booking one can be a chore. You want to make sure you will be as comfortable as possible when you are away from home. Research is the key to finding a great hotel room to book.

1. Decide where your destination is going to be. Sit down with the whole group your are traveling with and plan where you want to go, as well as what you want to see. There are many things that the whole group will want to go and see, and you will want to make a list of the priorities so that you can book a hotel that is close and convenient for your vacation plans.

2. Research your destination. If you look on the Internet you can find tons of reviews of destinations, hotels and even attractions. From here you can make an informed decision of what hotel you want to stay in. Most reviews found over the internet will show pricing as well, which can be an important factor of where you decide to stay.

3. Call the hotel to ask questions. Look at your priority sheet and figure out what things the hotel needs to have for you to stay in. Maybe it is important for you that the hotel has a pool, or even a continental breakfast. Whatever the amenity is, you will want to make sure the hotel has what you want at the price you are looking for.

4. Research the Internet and travel agencies for the best deals. Everywhere you look and call will have a different rate on the same hotel room. Depending on the amount of time you have to look around, you can find a great deal on a hotel. Some places offer last minute deals, and some will offer you a deal just to book with them. Make a list of the rates you were quoted and the people or websites you found the information at so that you can reference it later when it comes time to book.

5. Book your hotel. Once you have found the perfect hotel that is convenient for you and has all the amenities you were looking for, it is time to book. Go back to the place that you had found the best deal and book the room. Rates change frequently so if you find a good deal, you will want to book right away before the discounted price changes. It may go lower, but more than likely it will go higher than you were originally quoted. - 16492
